The Minimum Price: in the Home Stretch

We are waiting for the sentence of the TAR of Lazio on Yesmoke’s petition for the cancellation of the minimum price of cigarettes.

The maximum time for judgment of the TAR of Lazio is 90 days. The hearing was held on November 25th, and today is the 26th of January; sixty-two days have passed.
The sentence could come tomorrow or at the deadline of 90 days, that is, on February 23rd.

The elimination of the minimum price of cigarettes is coming closer and closer. In fact, the suit of the European Court of Justice against Italy will probably end sooner than expected, and to not incur in the European Union’s condemnation and consequent sanctions, the Italian Government has no choice but to comply… and as soon as possible.
