Frequently asked questions
Don't you think it is morally wrong to sell tobacco, that is a drug?
Yesmoke, which actually means "yes to smoking", is against every form of constraint. A sound society does not develop from foolish, cursory prohibitions on one hand, and subtle, ambiguous advertising images on the other. It is, rather, the outcome of a thoughtful and thorough process of education of people, who, in full freedom, respecting their own and others' rights, have all the tools to choose what is best for them and their own lives.
Why are you denouncing the crimes that tobacco multinationals commit against the health of consumers, and at the same time selling cigarettes that do only harm to the health?
Yesmoke does not resort to chemical cocktails to increase smokers’ addiction to the product. Yesmoke, does not advertise, it provides information in texts and in pictures on the damage caused by smoking any and all cigarettes. Yesmoke is not encouraging people to smoke, it wants to sensitise today's smokers, telling them that if they decide to smoke, they should avoid the products of the tobacco multinationals. These corporations are today one of the great maladies of our age.
By lowering cigarette prices, don't you think you are encouraging people to smoke more?
A maker who lowers his prices is only apparently favouring the tendency to smoke more; in fact, he is laying a base on which the State can increase its income by raising tobacco taxes.
Why have you built your factory in Italy?
We moved the factory from Switzerland to Italy and we became an Italian company for a “political” reason: nothing is more constructive than an open conflict, so Italy would be the ideal country. In Italy foreign manufacturers have been free to do whatever they want for over 30 years: they have penetrated the market with contraband, they have left an unpaid bill of tens of billions of euro in tax evasion, they have dispensed chemical cocktails to consumers, and no one has ever said anything. Yesmoke wants to be known not for its slogans, but thanks to open discussions on issues of vital importance for consumers and for the general public.
